    1. This book was very confusing to me.On one hand, the actual story that Eva Dillard tells is really heartbreaking, and personal and everything that you just don't wish anyone ever has to come through. Her whole life changed, and you've got to be sympathetic to it.On the other hand, her writing style really leaves something to imagination. So how to reconcile those two? I really have no idea.I would like to thank her, though, for making her story available to us. It took a lot of courage to speak up [...]

    2. I gave this book 3 stars. I liked it but it wasn't my typical reading style so it took me a while to finish it. But finish it I did. I found it interesting to read about someone elses misery and the steps they took to resolve their issues. The key points I got from her is if you have an issue you have two options. Avoid or resolve. Also where you have the ability to change your own life you just can not change someone elses.

    3. I received this book free in return for a review.I prefer not to write negative reviews, but, unfortunately, this book is not for me. It is more like something the author has disgorged over various periods for the sake of therapy, and in fact it apparently was written for this purpose.I find the book a bit too intense, since it deals solely with the author’s subjective, negative, experiences. I didn’t find it to be particularly well written, since it contained grammatical errors, such as an [...]

    4. originally appeared on:Bookshelf ConfessionsI would like to thank Ms. Dillner for sharing her story with us in this book. She bravely presents issues of addiction, abuse, neglect and how these changed her life. Her story is really heartbreaking, personal and everything you just don’t wish to experience. The best part of this book is the “Secrets of Transformation” section which is the last section. I even grabbed a pencil and wrote down the inspiring phrases I found in there which appealed [...]

    5. I received this book as a First Reads Giveaway win from . This is not the sort of book I would normally pick up and read (I seem to be winning books like these from a lot lately) and yet, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I learned from it. Before reading the book, I had no idea that such a thing as Kairos and Shen therapy existed (although the physical aspects of both therapies reminded me of a one-day Body Talk Access workshop I'd attended). I found it interesting how [...]

    6. Being a sort of memoir style book the main theme Eva Dillner presents to the reader is that of addiction and abuse and how these played a big part in her life. While the emphasis is on her therapeutic journey, she is mostly giving a somewhat esoteric view on trying to break up patterns in her life. Certainly a very honest and open sharing of experiences and emotions and how she managed to overcome or tackle them, the book is far from being the end of her personal development though she's evident [...]

    7. I won this book in the Giveaway.I am conflicted in my review. First of all, I thought the stories Eva Dillner, the author, were telling were heart breaking. The stories about her first husband were, although the most disturbing, the best part of the book. However, I felt that some of the paragraphs were repetitive and contradictory (ie: Eva Dillner mentions that her first husband brainwashed her into thinking her parents did not care about her, yet the first half of the book is her complaining [...]

    8. Ultimately we must applaud Dillner’s bravery in telling her story in Secrets of Transformation and to rejoice with her in the benefits she has received from doing so. Dillner’s work represents her taking her own advice to “Let it spew out” when using writing as a therapeutic tool. Although I recognise the value in telling her story, I do question the usefulness and purpose in publishing the story as it “spewed out”. As a writer, Dillner’s style is disjointed and difficult to follow [...]

    9. I wasn't able to finish the book due to boredom, but nether the let the beginning of it was interesting, so I presume it can be theoretically semi-OK.
